Saifullah Foundation for Sustainable Development was established in June 2002, as an independent non-political, non-profit and non-governmental organization, registered under Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance 1961 (XLVI of 1961) Governament of NWFP. The initial funding for its establishment and projects has been in the form of generous donations by its Founder Mr. Javed Saifullah Khan.

Mr. Khan is a well-known business leader of Pakistan. He is the Chairman of Saif Group of Companies, a leading business and industrial conglomerate of Pakistan with significant presence in Textiles, Cement, power generation, food products, Telecom and Information Technology industries.
